Outdoor celebration. Consider a farm wedding..

If you are dreaming of an outdoor wedding that is relaxed, friendly and heart warming you must consider a farm location. Usually hosted by families that are accommodating and approachable, the options for styling are vast, allowing you to bring in furniture, marquees, dance floors and catering, to enjoy an unforgettable party.

We visited Blackwattle Farm recently, located very close to Beerwah on the Sunshine Coast. We wanted to create a glamorous, sparkling, long table lunch celebration and we found the perfect position amongst the tall gums at Blackwattle.

Emma and her family operate a sustainable property here at Blackwattle. Producing their own food and taking joy in the slow life. Accommodation is available and events are by request only.  Sleeping up to 6 people across two spaces, there is no doubt you'll be welcomed here.

We took the opportunity to prepare a cocktail with fresh ingredients from the kitchen garden. You can find our recipe for the Lemongrass Mojito here.

We can incorporate cocktails into our bar service for your celebration. Start by thinking about what you normally enjoy. Is it citrus, bourbon, whisky, dry or sweet? Then consider what is in season. Its not ideal to prepare a whole bunch of mojito's in December when limes are imported and expensive.

We recommend keeping it to two signature cocktails for your event. Keep it simple so that you don't need to buy in a whole range of ingredients. It will also help us keep our pace with service.

Our stunning long timber table is supplied and styled by Bebe's Country Weddings. Blackwattle farm is located just 1 hour from Brisbane and enjoys incredible views of the Glasshouse Mountains.

You'll see plenty of animals roaming around the farm like Dexter cattle (mini cattle, they're gorgeous!), pigs, alpacas, chickens, ducks and dogs.

We were blown away by the cake that was designed by Elizabeth and May.

I had seen gold leaf before but never silver and we were thrilled with the look and style of this delicious celebration four tier cake.
