I have a million grapefruit in my garden. It is an absolutely impressive plant. It stands at a tiny 180cm and bears huge fruit weighing in at 500grams each. Each little branch as big as my finger hangs onto 3 or 4 fruit. I find it incredible that the small tree bends and strains and nutritionally supports these huge fruit.
They're the yummy red grapefruit as well. The yummy ruby red juice that is not quite so tart as some other varieties. So, I am super keen to utilise these guys and of course, I'll have them for brekky and get the vitamin C boosted for winter, but what else?
2 parts fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
1 part sugar syrup
1 part tequila
pinch of salt
add all ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake
fill a glass with ice
strain over ice
top up with soda water, stir
garnish w/ round cut slice of orange
In Australia one standard nip is 30ml.
